The compass of activities and projects has considerably widened to include provision of better living conditions to the people in the semi-rural conditions.

The Pune regional office of MHADA works in co ordination for the government's Lok Awaas in order to carry out slum rehabilitation and provide decent housing facilities. MHADA has also started acquiring land from farmers and other private owners. In fact, in order to facilitate smooth and quick functioning, MHADA has relaxed its procedural formalities required to apply for MHADA housing in Pune and other areas under MHADA Pune regional Board. MHADA Pune has played a great role in the development of housing facilities in the industrially vibrant districts of Pimpari, Chinchwad, Kolhapur, Sangli, and Miraj by providing decent and fair housing.
