Noida Development Authority came into existence on 19th April 1976 under the UP industrial development act. Noida was set up by Sanjay Gandhi. Spread over 20,316 Hectares, Noida is a well-planned, integrated and modern industrial city. Its development area consists of 81 villages of district Gautam Budh Nagar.
NOIDA – an acronym for New Okhla Industrial Development Authority, located in the National Capital Region (NCR) just 14 Kms from Connaught Place is called the industrial fairy land of India.

Road Connectivity

Road Connectivity is best described by NH-2, Link Road, Kondli Road and the Noida – Greater Noida Expressway. The eight-lane DND flyover with Toll Bridge provides easy and comfortable road traffic.
A special ambitious project – The Noida-Agra-Mathura Expressway that is under construction will add another dimension to the success of the development corporations of Noida.

Power Supply And Telephone

The Basic necessities like the Power Supply And Telephone are uninterrupted and well maintained. The telephony is digital and optical fibre cable based with state-of-the art electronic exchange providing Integration Service Digital Network (ISDN) services. A special local call connectivity facility to Delhi, Faridabad, Ghaziabad and other adjoining towns, reduces cost of communication upto 200 Kilometer peripheri.

Drinking Water Supply

Drinking Water Supply has been well taken care of by the municipal corporation with the per capita availability of drinking water to be 225 litres. Plans are also stirring to make use of rainwater or in more common terms- Rain Water Harvesting by means of modern indigenous technology for agricultural purposes to supplement the availability of water to meet the future requirements.

Residential

About 36% area in NOIDA has been developed as Residential. Different development and housing projects have been introduced including construction of residential units in LIG, MIG, HIG, Duplex and EWS categories. Special ‘Shramik Kunj’ project has been undertaken for construction of one-room sets for those below poverty line. Besides these a special senior citizen’s home is also on the planning list.

Planning

Other Planning charts include construction and maintenance of commercial centres in each sector, amusement parks, Noida Habitat Centre and sports complexes. Preparations to create world-class facilities for the 2009 national games to be held here are in full swing. In addition to this, institutional and industrial development projects are also in the swing. Around 125 hectares of land have been allotted for creation of road transport facilities including an inter-state bus terminal (ISBT).
