The Maharashtra Housing & Area Development Authority or MHADA plans to develop 500 flats for the Lower Income Group and Middle Income Group constituting the major share of MHADA properties buyers in Mumbai. This new project by MHADA includes construction of affordable flats in areas like Sion, Vikhroli, Powai, Goregaon, Malad and Dindoshi.
With property prices hiking upto 30-40% every year, this scheme of MHADA in Malad, Goregaon, Sion, Powai and other parts of Mumbai is a welcome relief for the property seekers. The MHADA LIG flats and MHADA MIG flats that will be constructed are proposed to be priced around Rs. 7 – 10 lakhs. The MHADA flat rates of the 500 flats to be constructed are generating a stir among the people who were unable to afford a roof of their own due to the superfluous property prices in the Mumbai real estate market. MHADA Malad, Goregaon, Sion, Powai, Vikhroli and Dindoshi projects are expected to be immediate sell-outs as soon as the MHADA flats forms will be announced.
These upcoming Housing schemes of MHADA have a leagcy of successful past projects by the authority including:
- Tadiwala Compound, Malad
- Tanaji Nagar, Kurar, Malad
- Shriram Nagar, Malad
- Ganesh Takdi
- Hanuman Takdi
- Giri Compound, Ban Dongri, Malad
